The LMFDB is divided into sections that are listed on the left side of your screen, including L-functions, modular forms, varieties, fields, representations, and groups. Each section is further divided into subsections that contain information related to a specific type of mathematical object, such as elliptic curves over $\Q$ or number fields.
Within each subsection you will find a "Learn more" panel that appears on the right of your screen. This panel includes links that provide information about the data that is available in the subsection, including:
- the source of the data: who computed it and the methods they used;
- the reliability of the data: any heuristics or unproved conjectures that were used in its computation are listed here, as well as any consistency checks that have been done;
- the completeness of the data: which finite subset of this (typically infinite) set of mathematical objects is included in the database, and what information is available for each object.
The table below provides links to the source, reliability, and completeness pages for each of the main subsections of the LMFDB.
