Given a finite group $G$, we call the minimal degree of a faithful transitive permutation representation of $G$ the permutation degree of $G$.
Equivalently, it is the smallest positive integer $n$ such that $S_n$ has a transitive subgroup isomorphic to $G$.
This can be computed as the minimal index of a subgroup with trivial core.
